What we store: your email (for sign-in), your username, your rankings and scores, titles you mark as seen, your Want to watch list, titles you hide, your “Never show me” settings, the streaming services you pick, who you follow, and any Watch together lists you share with a friend.

Who can see it: your username, your rankings and who you follow are public so friends can see them. Your email, streaming services, Want to watch list, hidden titles and “Never show me” settings are private to you. A Watch together list is visible only to the two people in it.

Where it lives: account data is stored with Supabase. If you aren’t signed in, everything stays in your browser’s local storage until you sign in.

Analytics: we use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which sites send visitors (the referring website). It doesn’t use cookies.

How you arrived: when you first visit, your browser keeps a note of how you got here: the campaign tags in the link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign), a friend’s referral username if you came from a shared list, the referring website, and the first page you landed on. If you then create an account in the same browser, this arrival source is saved once to your account so we can tell which posts and links bring people in.

Letterboxd import: if you import a Letterboxd CSV, the file is read in your browser and is not uploaded. Only the titles and years of up to 36 films are sent to our server to look them up on TMDB.

Third parties: movie data comes from TMDB; streaming availability comes from JustWatch via TMDB. Wochly doesn’t sell your data or show ads.

Deleting your data: remove titles from your lists at any time; to delete your account, email ben-ops+wochlysupport@mail.grokbot.com from your account’s address and we’ll delete it within 7 days.
